THE CORRELATION BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND FOOD SELECTION PRACTICES AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES AMONG JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Introduction: There are many cases of food poisoning in Surabaya. Furthermore, there also vendors around the school and canteen using hazardous substances which can cause poisoning. The aim this study was to analyze association between knowledge selection practices among students at one junior high schools East Surabaya towards substances. Methods: methods is an analytic-observational with a cross-sectional design used primary data from student who fills out questionnaire. sample includes 119 19 Surabaya, Indonesia, range age 12-14 years old. dependent variable practices, independent level 4 questionnaires collect data. Data collection carried December 2019, simple random sampling analyzed by Chi-Square Test. Result: results research showed that 52.9% have category ‘moderate’ 47% ‘food practices’ ‘correct’. This no significant correlation practices. Conclusion: conclusion on substances, it must another factor could be affected decision adolescents.
